The format is a standard 3-game resurrection tournament with the same team roster to be used in every match with no injuries, deaths, raised players or player progression carrying over between games.
Trophies are up for grabs include the Overall Winner, Most Casualties, Most Touchdowns, Best Defence and Best Painted Team**.
**This must be painted by the participant him/herself, be fully painted and based and must be the team you are actually using in the tournament.
Note that, with the exception of painting awards, all prizes will be distributed so that no one wins more than one - we like as many prize winners as possible!
Team building:
Coaches have 1.25 million gold crowns to spend on buying players, Assistant Coaches, Cheerleaders, Apothecaries, Bloodweiser Kegs, Dedicated Fans, Rerolls and their mercenary of choice.
All teams from the ‘Season 2’ rulebook and Teams of Legend PDF can be chosen from. All teams will be using the most up to date released rules. Of course, Gnomes and Slaan are welcome too!
In addition to a regular starting lineup (of at least 11 players), every team must hire a Chainsaw-wielding mercenary as part of their 1.25m budget. Tier 3 teams may choose to hire a second mercenary if they are brave/mad enough.
Meet the mercenaries:
All mercenaries have the following traits: Loner (4+), Chainsaw, No Hands and Secret Weapon.
Halfling 70k
5 2 3+ - 7+
Stunty, Right Stuff
Human 110k
6 3 3+ - 9+
Skeleton 100k
5 3 4+ - 8+
Regeneration, Thick Skull
Dwarf 140k
4 3 4+ - 10+
Arm Bar, Tackle, Thick Skull
Brute 160k
4 4 4+ - 9+
Big Guy 220k
5 5 4+ - 9+
Bonehead, Kick Teammate, Thick Skull
With great carnage comes great rule bending - every team also has a free bribe to do with what they will (this free Bribe cannot be used on any other Secret Weapon unless it has the ‘Chainsaw’ keyword).
The following Special Rules are in effect:
Teams with the ‘Halfling Thimble Cup’ special rule may take a Master Chef for 100,000 gold pieces (the discount does not apply to Gnome teams).
Any team may purchase extra bribes at their usual cost. Teams with the ‘Bribery and Corruption’ special rule can buy their 0-3 Bribes for 50,000 gold pieces. These are in addition to your free one.
Teams with the ‘Masters of Undeath’ special rule can gain a Zombie in a game in which they kill an opposing player (as per official rules) but the new zombie will not carry over into the next game(s); the same rule applies for Nurgle’s Plague Ridden trait.
Star players have too much at stake to risk being ripped to pieces. There are no star players at Butcher Bowl.
Each team has a skill package to enhance their players. You may not assign more than one additional skill to any player; you cannot allocate an extra skill to your chainsaw mercenary. Nice try.
Coaches will have the following skills allowance for their team:
Tier 1 - 3 primary skills
Tier 2 - 4 primary skills (coaches may exchange 2 primary skills for 1 secondary skill once)
Tier 3 - 6 primary skills (coaches may exchange 2 primary skills for 1 secondary skill up to three times)
(Tiers are based on the most recent GW errata)
The day:
There is a time limit for games so coaches are encouraged to play 4 minute turns to ensure games are completed. Any games other than game 1 that reach the time limit will have to be halted and the result at this point will be the final result of that game. Game 1 may be played into lunch only if both coaches agree this with the TO at the start of lunch.
The round 1 match will be randomly determined, with subsequent rounds being seeded based on tournament points.
09:30 – 10:00: Registration
• 10:00 – 12:15: Match 1
• 12:15– 12:45: Lunch
• 12:45 – 15:00: Match 2
• 15:15 - 17:30: Match 3
• 17:45: Awards
Points:
Tournament points are scored as follows for each match:
50 points for a win
20 point for a draw
0 points for a loss
Up to 3 points for both Touchdowns and Cas will be added to each round’s score, making a possible total score per round 56.
Tiebreakers for those on equal points will be determined by Strength of schedule, then TD difference, then casualty difference.
You need to bring:
Your team - it should be clear which model is which position/has which skill. Skill markers or rings are recommended.
Two copies of your roster (one for you and one for your opponent).
A pitch
Dice
Templates

Tickets are £15 and are payable through PayPal to edroebuck@hotmail.co.uk . Your entry fee will go towards prizes and a donation to the venue for their hospitality. Please check availability before booking - spaces may be limited.
We hope to see you there! |
