Tournament Pack for Giga Bowl 2022
Welcome coaches to Giga Bowl 2022! This will be a three round tournament played on Saturday January 29th 2022 at Giga- Bites Cafe (1851 Roswell Rd, Marietta, GA 30062). We will be using the following rule set, based on the Chaos Cup rules.
Blood Bowl Second Season (2020) Rule Set Main Book and most recent GW FAQ
All Races in the Rulebook, Teams of Legend Document, Spike Magazine & NAF additional
Special Play Cards will not be used
All injuries reset after each game
Apothecaries work as described in the Rulebook
Illegal Procedure can be shouted but will not be penalized
You are given 1,120,000 gold pieces to build your team. You may purchase players, rerolls, fan factor, coaches, and cheerleaders as normal with this money
Wizards, Journeymen, Special Play cards, and Mercenaries are NOT ALLOWED
You may purchase any other inducements for your team, including Star Players
Note: If you are including a Star Player, you must have 11 players on your team BEFORE hiring him. Having 10 players plus a Star is not allowed.
Remember: You can not have the same Star Player as your opponent. If both of you attempt to field the same player, then that star player has swindled you both!! Neither of you can field them. Also, you cannot use Igors or Apothecaries on Star Players.
**All new star players from the Second Season Edition and subsequent Spike Journals will be allowed. Second Season Edition has given Star Players each their own "Special Rule". If you have a Star Player on your roster, you are expected to explain the "Special Rule" to your opponent. **
After team is built, you are given +180,000 gold pieces to buy Primary and/or Secondary skills
Primary Skills cost 20,000 each
Secondary Skills cost 40,000 each
You may not purchase any stat upgrades
You may give each player up to two additional skills
Your team may only take up to four of each skill total
For instance, a Human Blitzer may be given Mighty Blow & Dodge in addition to already having Block. Also, four Dwarf Blockers may be given Guard, but you cannot give Guard to anyone else.

Attendance is limited to the first 16 coaches that sign up. Coaches are expected to bring everything their team needs to play.
Coaches will fill out a match report together for each game played listing The coaches, and each teams TDs, Casualties, Completed Passes, and turn it into the TO. Any rules questions can be referred to the TO.
Coaches will be given a 30 minutes and 5 minutes until end of round warning, and at time will be instructed to finish the current PLAYERS activation and then stop.
A coach may concede at any time, but if they choose to, they will be awarded no points for any TDs or Casualties they have scored in that match, and their opponent will be automatically awarded one more of each.
In the case of an odd number of coaches, the coach selected for the bye can either accept the bye, which counts as a Win with 1 Td and 1 Casualty or try their luck against the TO.
Stalling is a valid tactic in this tournament, but intentional slow play is not. Coaches should endeavor to complete their turns in a timely fashion.
Each Win is worth 3 Tournament Points.
Each Tie is worth 1 Tournament Point.
Each Loss is worth 0 Tournament Points. Concessions count as losses.
Placement will be based on Most Wins. First tie breaker will be Most TDs. Second tie breaker will be Most Casualties. Third tie breaker will be a Dance Off.
All players MUST be clearly marked with a number. All coaches are encouraged to fully paint their teams and mark which additional skills the players have, but it is not required.
All coaches must bring 4 copies of their roster, and give one copy to each opponent for reference.
Prizes will be given for:
Top Three Spots
Most Touchdowns
Most Casualties
Best Sportsman as voted by fellow Coaches
Best Stunty Team
And the Wooden Spoon for the coach who comes in last but finishes all three games. |
