On Saturday 4 rounds (Swiss pairings) are held. After these four rounds, the 8 highest ranked players advance to Sunday play. Only Belgians and Belgian residents can advance to Sunday play.
If a coach that qualifies for Sunday play can’t / won’t play on Sunday the highest ranked coach that didn’t qualify advances to Sunday play.
On Sunday, top 8 players battle it out for the title in another 3 rounds of Swiss play. They keep the points they earned on Saturday. It is possible to play against opponents you have already played against on Saturday.
Players that don’t qualify for top 8 are invited to compete in the Belgian Open. No extra registration fee is asked. Teams are reset, you can choose a different race to play on Sunday. Players that didn’t compete on Saturday are allowed to play the Belgian Open.

Tier 1 teams 1 normal skill
Tier 2 teams 2 normal skills
Tier 3 teams 1 normal skill + 1 ‘double’ skill
Tier 4 teams 2 normal skills + 1 ‘double’ skill
Tier 5 teams 1 normal skill + 2 ‘double’ skills
You are allowed to ignore 'double' skills in favour of normal skills.
These skills must be clearly marked on your team roster and presented to the tournament staff upon arrival.
At the start of rounds 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7 a randomly selected player is assigned a normal skill.
Clearly mark your players (numbers) and let your opponent roll a dice to randomly select a player on your team.
Once (and only once) during the tournament, you may choose to assign a ‘double’ skill instead of a normal skill. You may decide to assign a ‘double’ skill after a player has been randomly selected.
Stacking is possible when players that already have a skill are assigned another skill.
When you decide on a skill, clearly note it on your team roster. |
